Today it was announced that Tiger is coming back for the PC gamers out there. Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online is going to be a different experience than the past. Instead of purchasing a disc to install the game onto your hard drive, you will be able to simply log on to the game’s official website and stream the game directly from your web browser. The official website will also act as a social network similar to Facebook where you can add and chat with friends, challenge them to a match, modify your golfer by spending money in the pro shop, and check the leaderboards just to name a few.
While nothing has been finalized yet, Kotaku has stated that EA Sports is looking into a subscription based model, along with a slimmed down free-to-play version. Stay tuned as I will post my thoughts and impressions on the opening beta that I am currently participating in for this game.
Currently EA Sports is taking applications to be a part of the next wave in the beta testing. To sign up, please go to the following website: http://tigerwoodsonline.ea.com/
