Typically Back Nine Blog works with stories relating to Tiger Woods; however, I felt that this story should be brought to light. On April 29th, the Video Games section in conjunction with 1up.com posted a story promoting a site dedicated to making money selling college sports roster files for EA and 2K games.

Todd Zuniga was the author of this story, and did very little checking into the credibility of site’s owner Brian Kaldenberg. Including getting facts wrong about the NCAA hoops exclusivity and not knowing how big ofa crook Kaldenberg is.
As much of the gaming community knows, Kaldenberg is basically a liar, cheat and based on his recent and past actions, a pretty low form of scum. Using the word scum might be an insult to the word. First off what Kaldenberg does is illegal. He is profiting on selling roster files with the names of the players for college football and basketball games mainly. He claims what he does is legal; but the markup of the price of his jump drives and memory cards contradicts that statement.
Not only is he profiting illegally off of the names of these college athletes, he’s blatantly stealing the hard work of others and claiming it to be his own. I’ve known authors of these roster files and know they have little ticks in certain players that make the file their own, and Kaldenberg clearly has been proven to have stolen these rosters. As I said previously, the gaming community knows what a piece of crap this guy is.
There has been recent heat on the ESPN/1UP article that lead to a VERY immature showing by Kaldenberg on both Operation Sports and Pasta Padre message boards. He did everything from claiming the people at OS were his slaves, to bragging about how much money he makes off of us show complete disregard for how much he is ripping off the general public.

Enough of my rants, what I want to talk about now is how to put this guy out of business for good. Use every website and blog that you possibly can have access to that is related to NCAA Football rosters and create a thread or create a page on your blog. Entitle it “NCAA Football 09 Rosters – DON’T PAY FOR THEM” and list for example the Utopia website www.ncaastrategies.com or promote the fact that you will not have to pay for these rosters with the inclusion of the EA Locker file transferring system this year. And if you are not connected to the internet, you can still avoid having to give scumbags like Kaldenberg money. If you go to the Utopia website (also located on the right side under links) one of the admin’s of the site, CDJ for PS3 and the site will also list the user(s) who will work on the 360 site, can arrange to have your memory card or jump drive shipped to him and he will put the files on and ship it back. Another site you can check out, that will be up soon, is www.fairdale-kings.com. One final site you can check out as an additional source for rosters is www.operationsports.com.
Just remember:
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR NCAA FOOTBALL ROSTERS!
